The Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club is a beautiful oasis located in the northern most part of the City of San Diego in the community of Rancho Bernardo. The Club provides excellent recreational and social opportunities for its members.

Originally incorporated in the 1960s, the Club currently serves over 3,000 member families and more than 50 associate members and guests.

Regular Club events for members include movie night, Oktoberfest, Casino night, and summer pool parties. A built-in barbeque area provides for entertainment opportunities for members and we have facilities for private functions for accommodating up to 230 people. Many community organizations make use of our facilities including Little League baseball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Home Owners Associations that serve our members. We are a smoke free facility.

Membership of the Club is required for all property owners within a specified geographical area of Rancho Bernardo. Owners may elect a level of membership based on their club usage. Class A members have unlimited use. Class B members are limited to six uses per household per year and may upgrade to Class A at any time. Associate members must be residents of the Rancho Bernardo community. Associate members do not have voting privileges. The roster of names and addresses of members is maintained at the Club’s offices at 16955 Bernardo Oaks Drive, San Diego, California.

A Board of Directors oversees the Club and there is an Architectural Committee that administers Covenants, Codes and Restrictions (CC&Rs) for over 1,600 homes.

Notes from the Board
The next Board of directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2020.   This will be a Zoom meeting. Click here for the agenda which will be available mid June.

At the May 19th  meeting, approximately 43 member attended the zoom video meeting and all were asked if they wished to address the Board.  The Board voted to modify the Waiver to make it more closely dealing with the Covid-19.  One resident expressed his view that the Board should use it Reserve Funds for operating funds.  A CPA who is a Board Member explained that Reserve Funds can not legally be used for operating funds and thus there is no chance of not having dues. Many projects were started and completed to upgrade and maintain the facility during the closure to member use.

The Board will continue to monitor the various governmental guideline to determine when and what additional parts of the facility may be opened.

Board Meetings are open to all Members. Please feel free to attend. Questions can be asked during an open session at the beginning of the meeting.

For more on the Board, click on the Governance Tab in the Menu Bar.
