Coronavirus COVID-19 Updates
The Board of Directors held a Special meeting on Tuesday, March 31.   At that time, they voted to extend the closure of the Club until May 1.  During the period while the Club is closed due to the virus, the Board of Directors will meet regularly to review the status and provide direction.   These will be meetings open to all members.  The next Special Board Meeting will be held on April 14, 2020 at 7:00 pm. This will be a virtual meeting and attendance will be through Zoom.  For agenda for the meeting and Zoom log-in information click here.

Due to safety precautions regarding the COVID-10 virus, the conducting of the AGM and counting of ballots were handled as Virtual meetings via ZOOM.   For full elections results click here.  
The Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club is a beautiful oasis located in the northern most part of the City of San Diego in the community of Rancho Bernardo. The Club provides excellent recreational and social opportunities for its members.
Originally incorporated in the 1960s, the Club currently serves over 3,000 member families and more than 50 associate members and guests. 
Regular Club events for members include movie night, Oktoberfest, Casino night, and summer pool parties. A built-in barbeque area provides for entertainment opportunities for members and we have facilities for private functions for accommodating up to 230 people. Many community organizations make use of our facilities including Little League baseball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Home Owners Associations that serve our members. We are a smoke free facility.
Membership of the Club is required for all property owners within a specified geographical area of Rancho Bernardo. Owners may elect a level of membership based on their club usage. Class A members have unlimited use. Class B members are limited to six uses per household per year and may upgrade to Class A at any time. Associate members must be residents of the Rancho Bernardo community. Associate members do not have voting privileges. The roster of names and addresses of members is maintained at the Club’s offices at 16955 Bernardo Oaks Drive, San Diego, California.
A Board of Directors oversees the Club and there is an Architectural Committee that administers Covenants, Codes and Restrictions (CC&Rs) for over 1,600 homes.

Room Rentals
The RB Swim & Tennis Club offers rooms for rent for events such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, family gatherings and more. The rooms may be rented by Club members only.  Rental of any rooms does not give you access to the tennis courts, gym, and other areas of the Club grounds.
Room Rentals are scheduled in a 6 hour period of time. This includes set-up and break down time regardless of whether the full 6 hours is used or not. There is an additional fee for additional hours (or any part thereof). A contract needs to be signed and deposit must be received to hold a reservation. All room rentals are subject to availability.

Club 21 Room 60 (Adults only) $275
The Glass Room & BBQ Areas rent for $100 and holds a total of 25 people. It’s a “fire and safety code” that you never have more than 25 people at any given point in time in the Glass Room, this includes children and/or adults. You may have up to 40 people in total attend the party (including your household, adults & children). Rental of the Glass Room or BBQ Area gives you access to the playground and is the only room where you can also use the main pool.
The Castille Room rents for $400 and holds up to 115 people.
The MP 1 or MP 2 Rooms rent for $400 each and can hold up to 115 people in each room. MP 1 & MP 2 can be rented together for $800. The room divider can be opened to make 1 large room and can hold up to 230 people.
The kitchen (which connects to both the Castille Room & MP 1) can be rented for an additional $50.
The Club 21 Room rents for $275 and holds up to 60 people. This room has a kitchen attached that you may have access too. Since this room is located in the “Over 21” area of our Club, children under that age are not permitted.

Notes from the Board

Three new Board of Directors were elected and took office on March 24th. See Governance page to see the election results.
Fence Lawsuit Summary:
The Club received a favorable ruling in the lawsuit brought against the Club by Mr. Michael Sellers and Dr. Lorie Teagno regarding approval of a fence between their property and a neighbor's. Judgment was entered in favor of the Club and the lawsuit was dismissed. As noted in the Board Meeting of October 15, 2019 we would publish a summary of the lawsuit after is was settled. The judge awarded the Club legal fees in the amount of $43,297.58 which has now been paid and accrued interest was forgiven. The litigation summary by our lawyer is available on the Members Page of the RBSTC website.
Board Meetings are open to all Members. Please feel free to attend. Questions can be asked during an open session at the beginning of the meeting.
We have formed a new committee to look at facilities that appear to be under utilized. The committee will look at the facilities and develop a long term plan more effectively use this area.
